The draft Vision and Mission Statement for the new Men’s Ministry is outlined below.
Preamble
The WA Conference’s 2020 Vision includes the establishment of 2000 small groups as a step towards achieving a substantial increase in Seventh-day Adventist disciples in WA. The WA Conference Mission includes a commitment to provide leadership and resources that empower ministries to reach men (women and children) with God’s message of love. The WA Conference Values include: sharing the good news of Jesus in ways that effectively reach all people; building nurturing and affirming relationships; celebrating the diversity of people; discipling and mentoring people in their spiritual journeys into holistic, biblical, authentic and faithful lifestyles; and affirming leaders of courage and integrity who uphold God’s values in the family, community and Church. An affiliated WA Conference Men’s Ministry will make a significant contribution to achieving the WA Conference 2020 Vision, Mission, and Values.
Vision
The WA Conference Men’s Ministry Vision is for Adventist men to be leaders in their community, demonstrating purpose, courage and integrity by living the spiritual values of Jesus Christ.
Mission Statement
Our Mission is to build an inclusive Christian Adventist men’s network throughout WA, and through education and raising awareness, foster the accountability of church communities in ministering to men, by:
| 1. | Challenging men to use friendship and integrity in actively making a difference in the lives of others; |
| 2. |
Discipling, mentoring and empowering men to claim their true masculine soul and biblical identity as strong and valiant men; |
| 3. | Creating awareness, educating and supporting the Adventist community in meeting the needs of men by balancing their spiritual, emotional and physical health; |
| 4. | Encouraging all men, supported by experienced Elders, to actively serve their local communities in practical and life changing ways, being advocates of justice, protecting the weak, the powerless and vulnerable; |
| 5. | Connecting all men, especially those difficult to reach, to the Kingdom of God through the ministry of Adventist men. |
All feedback and counsel received will be used to develop an implementation proposal, which will be submitted back to the Executive Committee for final decision-making in August 2010.
A number of queries have been received about the relationship between WACMEN, and the new WA Conference Men’s Ministry, yet to be established. The new WA Conference Men’s Ministry, will be just that, new, and will be designed around the feedback received during the consultative process. However, Danny Bell, who founded WACMEN as an affiliated men’s ministry, has stated that he expects WACMEN to be absorbed into the new WA Conference Men’s Ministry, when it is established. The following video gives more information about WACMEN as it is currently operating.
