Campsite Set Up Tips
Before Camp
If you wish to drop off your caravan, camper trailer or set up your tent you can do this on Sunday, 2 April 2023 from 2.30 pm – 5.00 pm only. Please note: You leave your belongings at the campground at your own risk. Also note that no one is to stay in their accommodation until camp starts.
Wednesday, 5 April 2023, 8.30 am - 5.00 pm is another opportunity to set up your caravan, camper trailer or tent, but again, you cannot stay on the campground until Thursday, 6 April 2023.
Please encourage all family, friends and potential attendees to register Day Visitor Passes online to make the process quicker and easier for them upon arrival. It does not matter if they do not attend, only that they pre-registered before coming onto the campground.
Check In
All Campers will need to check in at the Registration tent from Thursday, 6 April 2023, 8.30 am until Thursday evening at Advent Park. You do not need any paperwork to check in.
We ask that all Campers (whether staying in a caravan, camper trailer or tent) make every attempt to be setup as early as possible by Friday.
If anyone has not yet registered, they can do so at the Registration tent before entering the campground.
All Campers and Day Visitors who do not wish to have photos taken of them by official camp photographers: please ask for a RED wrist band to indicate this.
Once all those checked in have received their wrist bands they can come and go from the campground without having to be processed again at the Registration tent.
All those entering the campground will be required to show their wrist band to Security at the appropriate entrance point along the drive.
Process for Campers
1. Arrive at Advent Park
Enter Advent Park driveway (Pine Tree Avenue) and turn right as directed by signage.
Move along the appropriate indicated lanes as directed by staff.
2. Collect Wrist Bands
Conference staff with iPads will check you in and give each checked in member in your vehicle a wrist band. This wrist band must remain on for the duration of camp. If it is removed, you will need to obtain another one from the Registration tent. (blue square marked on map below)
For all Campers and Day Visitors who do not wish to have photos taken of them by the official camp photographers: please ask for a RED wrist band to indicate this.
Once all members in your vehicle have been checked in, you will be allowed to proceed into the camping area to set up.
5. Find Your Campsite
Your site is shown by A = Avenue Number and then the Site Number. Site Numbers run odds up one side of the avenue and evens up the other.
To find your campsite, the power supply (which is called a “mushroom”) has 4 plugs to accommodate 4 campsites.
Campsites back onto each other so that all caravans, tents, and camper vans must have the tow bar facing out to the avenue.
Each mushroom will show the Avenue Number and the Site Number. Find the plug point that relates to your site - this is your power supply.
6. Meet Kalamunda Shire Regulations
You will notice that your site has an appointed ‘L’ shape marker about 1.5 metres from the electrical mushroom. Kalamunda Shire regulations require that you park your caravan or pitch your tent within these markers (see yellow box diagram below) and not position yourself outside them.
In order to comply with Kalamunda Shire regulations, any camper who fails to meet these requirements will be asked to adjust accordingly. Thank you for your attention on this matter.
7. Park Your Vehicle
Your vehicle can stay next to your caravan, camper or tent but it cannot be moved for the whole period of camp until Monday evening.
If you need to use your vehicle, then we request that you please park it under the David Street power lines. Hired security as well as WA Conference staff are on duty 24 hours a day.
