City of Gosnells Spring Day

On 3 September 2022, the Gosnells Seventh-day Adventist Church opened the grounds to their Community on a Council-sponsored ‘Spring Day Places of Worship Open Day.’

The Council brought community members in buses to visit the church, as part of the tour across various places of worship in the City of Gosnells.

The Church had an opportunity to showcase it’s purpose, what is could offer to the Community. It welcomed visitors to attend anytime in the future.

The Personal Ministries Director, Brother Neil Ainsworth, cheerfully received, escorted and guided the participants across the entire church facility. They started in the Main Church venue where they were able to witness worship that the Samoan group was leading; and then moved to the Church Hall. The tour then continued to the external facilities and the Green Room.

With Gosnells’ Church 100+ year history on showcase at the church hall, Brother Dave Rupe was able to articulate the journey of the church. The event was made a success through the leadership of Sister Huldah Bitange. She took the initiative to lead the organising committee for the event through collaboration with the Church Board, the Conference, the Council and the volunteers. The Church was appreciative of the initiative, time, and effort the Gosnell Church Members, City of Gosnells Council and the WA Conference contributed in making the event a success.

Special thanks and recognition was given to Shelley Poole. She went out of her way to make sure everything went well, planned for success, and helped with designing the beautiful flyers and banner that everyone loved. Thanks was also given to Jody for steering the plan for success and coordinating. Natalie was also involved with printing the brochures and banners. The Church also thanked the WA Conference for reaching out to the South Pacific Division (SPD) for financial support in customisation and publication of the ‘Caring for You’ brochure.

A special thanks and recognition was also given to Mayor Terresa Lynes, Deputy Mayor Adam Hort, Councillor Caren Baayens and Assistant Courtney Mazzini who were able to physically attend. Courtney was also involved planning, coordinating and keeping us up-to-date during the planning phases.

The Council further provided positive feedback that they received from participants. Some attendees look forward to attending our service or events in the coming weeks. The church was really grateful to have been a part of this event and is looking forward to participating in future events in the community.
