Geoffrey Plewright’s Ordination
Geoffrey Plewright was ordained to the gospel ministry on the Sabbath afternoon of Easter Camp. One of the reasons he chose to be ordained at camp was because it was at an Easter Camp many years ago when, as a young boy, he first responded to an appeal to accept Jesus into his heart. Geoffrey began his career as a teacher and has taught in Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia. When he heard God calling him to enter pastoral ministry, he returned to the classroom as a student again and graduated from Avondale College (now Avondale University). Geoffrey accepted the invitation to return to Western Australia in 2019 and pastor the Albany, Mt Barker, and Denmark churches. He and his family moved to Perth at the beginning of this year to take up a new position pastoring the North Beach and Clarkson churches. During his ordination response, Geoffrey acknowledged Pr Steve Goods, who baptised him and his wife Sarah-Jane, married them, and prayed over him for his ordination. He also acknowledged Pr Lance Hooper, a mentor in his early ministry, who travelled across from New South Wales to be present. He also expressed his appreciation to his ministry colleagues and how glad he is to be part of the team of Seventh-day Adventist pastors in Western Australia.
