JAMES WINEGARDNER | BIG TENT
James Winegardner was born and raised in Texas. He has degrees in religion and law. James served in the Adventist Health System and Farmers Insurance. He also operated a private litigation practice. He returned to full-time pastoral ministry in the Texas Conference in 2011, ultimately serving the Keene church at his alma mater. In August 2021, he was elected president/CEO at Adventist Risk Management.
James is married to Mary Ellen and has three daughters—Megan, Emma, and Lily.
DWAIN ESMOND | THE MARQUEE
Dwain Esmond is an author, editor, and speaker with over 19 years in Seventh-day Adventist publishing. A former vice president of editorial services for the Review and Herald Publishing Association, he edited Insight magazine and authored three young adult devotionals, including 24.7.365: One Year in the Word. He also edited As I Follow Christ: 20 Essentials Every Leader Should Know.
Currently, he is an associate director of the Ellen G. White Estate, Inc. He and his wife, Kemba, have one son, Dwain Jr.
EDDIE HYPOLITE | YOUTH SHED
Eddie Hypolite is an international motivational speaker, consultant, and leadership trainer with 20 years’ experience, inspiring organizations globally. With 19 years in ministry across the UK and Australia, he holds degrees in theology and sociology and previously worked as a residential social worker. In 2018, he founded a professional development consultancy, called Empowering Your Resilience.
He lives with his family in New South Wales, Australia.
RENEE VAOVASA | TEEN SHED
Hey! I’m Renee Vaovasa, a pastor and chaplain at two Adventist schools in Sydney. I’m passionate about mentoring teens, helping them grow in faith, and worshipping God with their talents.
Born in Tonga and raised in Western Sydney, my multicultural background shapes my ministry. Outside work, I enjoy chai lattes, hiking, music, shopping, and quality time with my siblings and friends.
My faith in Jesus gives me hope and purpose every day.
KIRA-LEIGH JOSEY | JUNIOR SHED
Kira-leigh was raised in and around Sydney but is now a proud Queenslander. Her favourite things to do are to read, write and talk (seriously- she’ll talk to you about anything). She is escatic that she gets to use all of her hobbies to tell people about Jesus and why living life with Him is so much better!
BRAD REA | PRIMARY
Brad Rea is a creative and experienced school chaplain and storyteller. He works with children and teenagers at Macquarie College, an Adventist school in Newcastle where he has served for over 20 years. He loves to find fun and engaging ways to share the good news about Jesus with young people. He is also the author of the 409 Bible Adventure Challenge currently being used in many Adventist schools. Brad and his wife Christie have four kids Mischa, Breanna, Summer and Catya.
EDYTA JANKIEWICZ | RELATIONSHIPS
Edyta Jankiewicz serves as Associate Ministerial Secretary (WIM) at the SPD. Previously, she worked in Family Ministry at SPD and as assistant professor at Andrews University. Holding an MMin in Family Life and a PhD in Religious Education, her interests include family relationships, faith formation, and discipleship. She is married to Darius and has two daughters, Caitlin and Ashley.
DARIUS JANKIEWICZ | RELATIONSHIPS
Darius Jankiewicz serves as Field Secretary and Ministerial Secretary for the South Pacific Division of Seventh-day Adventists. Until 2019, he served as a professor of historical theology and the chair of the Theology and Christian Philosophy department at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University, Berrien Springs.
GLENN TOWNEND | MISSION FOCUS
Glenn Townend has 38 years of pastoral experience, including 17 in churches and 21 in leadership, with nearly a decade in Western Australia. He is the South Pacific Division President, passionate about discipleship and mission. Glenn is married to Pamela and has three children, Amy and Travis in Perth, and Megan on the Gold Coast. He enjoys gardening and cycling.
GERALDINE PRYZBYLKO | HEALTH
Geraldine Przybylko, with 20+ years of leadership experience, is the Executive Director of ELIA Wellness and Health Strategy Leader for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the SPD.
Her doctorate focused on Lifestyle Medicine and Mental Health, emphasizing empowerment and flourishing.
JACOB UGLJESA | FAMILY WORSHIP IN THE BIG TENT
Jacob Ugljesa (oo-glare-shah) grew up in Logan, Brisbane, and became a follower of Jesus at 18. Married to Dari since 2016, Jacob has 4 years of pastoral ministry experience and became Campus Pastor of Noosa Christian College in 2020. He is passionate about sharing the Bible, connecting with people, and making the church a welcoming and safe place for children and families to discover Jesus.
MARY ELLEN WINEGARDNER | PRAYER
Mary Ellen Winegardner, Director for Discipleship at Keene Church, oversees life groups, Women’s Ministries, the Social Committee, and food and personal ministries. She leads Connections Sabbath School and women’s Bible study groups weekly. A former court reporter for 10 years, she is a proud mother of three daughters and enjoys kayaking, visiting beaches and mountains, learning, and spending time with loved ones.
