Harvey Great Controversy Roll-out
Harvey Seventh-day Adventist Church in South-West Western Australia held a ‘Great Assembly’ afternoon on the 12th August 2023. This was in preparation for the delivery of ‘The Great Controversy’ to every home in the rural town.
Many hands made light work. Together volunteers applied a “with compliments” label, inserting each book in a clear waterproof sleeve, and boxing them in preparation for delivery. Many volunteers stayed for the closing of Sabbath and half the night for prayers, testimonies, Bible readings and hymns.
The following Sunday morning, 20th August, a team of around 40 volunteers arrived early ready to deliver 1,500 copies of the Great Controversy to homes in the community. Ten teams of people armed with maps completed the roll-out in less than three hours. The remainder stayed at the church to sing and pray for God’s protection over the volunteers and blessings on every book.
The Harvey Personal Ministries Director, Graham Weir, said, “It was a very moving and thrilling experience to see our church members fully united in this important project to be obedient to the heavenly vision to distribute the full version of the ‘Great Controversy’ in our communities. We were especially encouraged by two volunteers who drove down from Perth to assist with the roll-out, and one volunteer who drove from Busselton to provide everyone with a tasty, healthy lunch.
Project co-ordinator Alex Hodgkinson and Head Elder, Alan Myers, were also thrilled with the team effort. Everyone is continuing to pray that the Lord will produce a harvest of those interested in learning more about preparing for His soon return.
