ATSIM Youth Rally

The atmosphere was exciting as ATSIM (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ministries) youth gathered at the WA Conference Auditorium on 13-14 September. This was the first ever ATSIM Youth Rally held in Western Australia. Karalundi College students (who travelled 700kms to be there), Carmel boarders, Karla Bidjar youth and the youth age Mamarapha students came together to share great food and fellowship. The Australian Union Conference Youth Director, Pr. Jeff Parker, travelled from Melbourne for the event and shared inspiring stories and thought-provoking messages. Karla Bidjar Youth Leader, Keiahna was the MC for the program and both her and Mamarapha student Maggie provided some challenging activities to loosen up the youth and get them talking together. Karalundi College students provided the music and some fantastic special items to the enjoyment of everyone.

The joint Discipleship Ministries Team (DMT) event was a success as Pr. Cameron, Chloe and Darren joined together to make this a special time, with milkshakes, snacks and great food to top it off. The ATSIM Youth didn’t say much when asked how they felt about the program, they simply said that when it was on next year, they wanted to come.
