Celebrating God’s Call
It was a very exciting Sabbath on January 14 when Ross Craig was ordained into the Gospel Ministry, in the presence of God at Manjimup Seventh-day Adventist Church. Recognised and affirmed by fellow ministerial Pastors of the WA Conference, church members from Manjimup, Kulikup, Boyup Brook and Katanning, were thrilled to participate in this important event in Ross’s life. The laying of hands with a host of Pastors and serving Elders, was particularly moving.
Also present were; clergy from other faith communities, representatives from the Shire of Manjimup; community volunteers with Manji Food Pantry; the ADRA Op Shop and especially welcomed were members from Ross’s family who travelled from Queensland and New South Wales including those who viewed it on Facebook Livestream from Gympie and Toowoomba. The church was abuzz and overflowing.
It was the first time in an Adventist church for some, with one community member volunteering to be the photographer and she was joined by a reporter from the local newspaper.
In response, Ross shared some of his life’s journey and a time in his life when he believed all hope had gone. He praised God for his unending love and grace toward him during his wayward years (and his angel’s enduring patience). It was hard to hold back the tears.
This exciting day God foresaw from the beginning (Jeremiah 29:11) and we were so proud and privileged to be a part of celebrating God’s call in Ross’s life. To God Be the Glory!
