EDGAR travels to Derby (so does Satan)!

EDGAR, the Daniel 2 blow-up statue, made a big impression when we first placed him beside Derby Church. People would stop to take photos, and cars slowed for a closer look. We are using Edgar to promote videos on the Panorama of Prophecy seminar by Doug Batchelor.

Doug had visited Derby before and had even opened the church a few years earlier. Some attendees of the seminar had even taken selfies with Doug Batchelor.

Of course, whenever we aim to push back Satan’s kingdom, we shouldn’t be surprised by his attacks. And so it was. After our Friday evening care group, we were sitting at the front of the church keeping an eye on Edgar. I decided to leave for a minute to fetch something, and upon my return, I found that someone had slashed the ropes holding him up, and then the base with a knife. Edgar came crashing down, but not by the rock cut out without hands. The next night, some young people came and stole all the cash from my wife’s purse. Then, on my way back to Broome, a 4WD harassed us by driving past, turning off its lights and swerving all over the road. The last straw was our TV being stolen from the church. Praise the Lord, we thought, we must be doing something right.

On the first night, 50 people came to the dinner and to hear Doug’s testimony. We have run four programs so far, with between 30 and 40 people attending each. The seminar will continue nightly until the end of May. It should be noted that even though Edgar is a great attraction, most people mainly came from the small group we run and from inviting friends.

Please pray for the seminar in Derby and Broome, that some may make a decision for Jesus, His truth, and His church.
