Introducing Alive in Jesus: A New Children’s Sabbath School Curriculum

The General Conference has developed a new curriculum for children's Sabbath School, designed to inspire and engage young people. The Alive in Jesus Bible curriculum aims to equip parents, caregivers, Sabbath School teachers, and church leaders to model and foster a thriving relationship with Jesus. This initiative focuses on empowering adults to guide children towards a strong spiritual foundation and meaningful connections with others.

Vision and Goals

The primary goal of the Alive in Jesus curriculum is to make disciples who make disciples. The program encourages young people to build a lifelong relationship with Jesus, understand biblical truths, and share the gospel with others. By incorporating research on faith development and recognising the crucial role of parents and caregivers in nurturing faith, the curriculum combines best educational practices with biblical narratives to present a clear Seventh-day Adventist worldview.

Rollout Schedule

The launch of the Alive in Jesus curriculum will take place over several years, with the following schedule:

  • • 2025: Babies and Beginners

  • • 2026: Kindergarten and Primary

  • • 2027: Juniors and Teens

  • • 2028: Youth (for ages 16-18)

From January 1, 2025, Babies and Beginners study guides will be available. Please note that the existing GraceLink curriculum will be replaced as the new curriculum is rolled out.

Training and Support

To ensure a smooth implementation of the Alive in Jesus curriculum, the Discipleship Ministries team will offer training sessions at local churches across the state this year. Each regional meeting will include an afternoon program to explain, share, and demonstrate the new curriculum. In addition, multiple training sessions will be held in Perth to accommodate participants in that area.
