Victoria Park Christian School – Messy Church
Our Victoria Park Christian School launched a fresh initiative this year called Messy Church. This ministry takes place on the first Friday evening of each term month, and we’ve already had four gatherings. Messy Church focuses on being Christ-centered, fostering creativity, catering to all ages, and promoting celebration and fellowship through hospitality. We’ve averaged over 50 attendees at our regular gatherings, and we’re actively seeking more ways to connect our non-Christian school community with Jesus. One family remarked, “This was the first time we’ve ever been to a church, and it was amazing. Next time I’m bringing the rest of my family”, (and they did, by the way).
We’ve enjoyed exploring the Fruit of the Spirit along with some of our core values. Parents and children have actively participated in acting, building with LEGO, singing, creating sidewalk chalk drawings, and puppetry – all to convey more about God. This has been possible through the hard work and dedication of our school staff, the prayers and support of our families, the generosity of the WA Conference, and most importantly, by God’s providence.
