Carmel Adventist College Performs ‘Esther’ Musical
On 25 and 26, May, Carmel Adventist College, in collaboration with Lighthouse Christian Theatre and Perth Adventist Orchestra, performed a musical production of Esther. The production included more than 70 actors, musicians and crew. The two sold-out shows delighted audiences.
“Esther, the story of the Jewish orphan girl Hadassah, was my favourite Bible story growing when I was growing up. I admired her strength and courage and as a child, I wanted to share her kind heart and grace. As I continued to grow up, I realised that this story, while she has the title name, isn’t actually about Esther herself. This story is not merely a tale of one girl’s personal strength but a profound example of God’s promises, divinity and love. It underscores the truth that God works through ordinary individuals, leading them to do extraordinary things for Him. The story of Esther teaches the power of faith amid adversity, reminding us to be a vessel for His purpose. I had the privilege of stepping into the shoes of Queen Esther, and I am beyond grateful to have brought this story to the stage alongside so many students of Carmel and the wider church community. Watching the confidence and dedication of the Cast and Crew was so inspiring, especially being both an Actor and a Creative. It was an absolute joy and privilege to be involved with “Esther, A Musical.” Jordyn Gallop (Assistant Director, Choreographer, Esther)
“Esther: A musical featured clever dialogue, soaring songs, a live orchestra and an enthusiastic cast. Acting out the story really made you think in a whole new way about the challenges the characters faced and the courage and faith they found to prevail.”Pastor Andrew Skeggs (Mordecai)
