Goodbye Pr Uili & Pr Mike
Uili Mauga made his first impression when he came to serve at the chaplain at Karalundi eighteen years ago. He quickly demonstrated he was dedicated young pastor wanting to serve the students and staff of Karalundi. Uili won over the Indigenous young people at Karalundi over with his care and fun attitude. Uili has always taken his responsibility to make a difference very seriously. This was seen even when he was out of his comfort zone.
Uili has been successful in building a team of people who make the Youth and Pathfinder scene happen. He has empowered young people in leadership and always affirmed their efforts. The most important team in Uili’s life is his family - his wife, Dayle, and their daughters, Haven and Kora. I want to thank Uili and his family for the huge impact they have had in our conference and in our lives.
When Mike and Jeanette arrived in Western Australia four years ago, they came because of God’s leading, and because they wanted to share the good news of the Gospel. In the role of Ministerial Secretary, Mike has shared his passion for mission. Seeking out people, connecting with them, and helping pastors and church members engage in this has been a high priority for him. Mike and Jeanette have worked across a broad cross section of the family of the Seventh day Adventist church and have loved connecting with people with different views and ideas.
There is no doubt that we have enjoyed lots of good food at meetings Jeanette has catered for, and food and fellowship are a key in healthy community and church outreach. Mike often brings a different perspective on life and how to see things. He has wisdom and a love for dealing with tough stuff. I wish you and Jeanette the absolute best as you move to be close to your loved ones who need your care and attention right now.
