Shamira the Brave

Shamira is one brave young person whom we all love. Besides being a very cheeky young lady, Shamira is a go-getter. She water skis, rides motorbikes, and jumps off very high jetties into deep freezing water without fear. She gives everything a go.

Recently, the Livingston Seventh-day Adventist Church Teen group needed donations to help raise funds so they could purchase a set of OrCam high-tech glasses for Sham. They needed to raise at least $7000 and they believed that their church family could raise this amount. The Teen group wanted to fundraise with a ‘meet us in the middle’ lunch. They encouraged attendees to decorate a pair of glasses for judging at the luncheon.

The Teens were very passionate about helping one of their own and loved having the support of the church too.

The lunch raised over $11,000 which was used to purchase the glasses and training/support for the use of the glasses.
