Guests Galore

Family and friends travelled hundreds of kilometers to witness the baptism of sisters Phyllis and Elizabeth Penny. This was a wonderful day of decision making, and a very happy day for Pastor David de Klerk, as it was his first baptism conducted in Albany.

Early this year the South Pacific Division President, Pastor Glenn Townend, chose to visit Albany. He was accompanied by WA Conference leaders Pastor Steve Goods, Brad Thomas and Jody Eddy. This was an inspirational day enjoyed by many the Great Southern members.

We were fortunate to have Pastor Steve Hebbard, take the service one Sabbath. He had only ten minutes notice because the local elder rostered for the day was unable to speak as he had lost his voice!

On Father’s Day, we were honoured to enjoy the beautiful and inspirational music of Hayden Wiseman. This was preceded by a delicious formal dinner, catered for by chef Gould and his family of helpers.

Other guests have included grandparents visiting from the Philippines, European tourists who took a taxi to worship with us while their cruise ship was docked in port, and others travelling by road around Australia. .

If you are ever down south, checking out the stunning scenery or fabulous flora, be sure to worship with the Albany church family. You never know who you might meet or who will be preaching that day. You may even get up close and personal with some local fauna.

Most importantly, may God continue to bless us with people making decisions to follow Him.
