Isabel and the Lunchbox Bully Book Dedication
Recently, the Adventist Book Centre celebrated the dedication of Isabel and the Lunchbox Bully, a heartwarming new book by Simone Field, a Victoria Park Christian School teacher. This inspiring story is written to resonate with young, impressionable girls aged 6-10, helping them see how faith can play a meaningful role in their everyday lives.
Adventist Book Centre was alive with excitement and anticipation as attendees gathered around for Simone to narrate the first chapter of her book. She opened her copy of Isabel and the Lunchbox Bully and began reading from the first chapter. As she narrated, the room was transported to 9-year-old Isabel’s home in Melbourne, where boxes, books, and tears filled the scene. “Isabel swallowed back the tears she desperately wanted to let fall,” Simone read, and we all held our breath (and maybe a tear, too), captivated by the story. Many children and adults couldn’t wait to get their copies signed by Simone, eager to find out what happens next!
The evening became even more exciting with the presence of Nathan Brown, a Christian author and editor at Signs Publishing. He prayed that Isabel and the Lunchbox Bully book reach girls who need hope and for Simone’s dream of this being the first in a series to explore the lives and unique experiences of the four girls central to the story.
A special mention and thank you goes to Jannine Ellis, who introduced Simone to Nathan Brown after Simone was rejected by another publisher, making this moment of dedication even more meaningful.
Adventist Book Centre Supervisor, Susan Duncan remarked, “It was a beautiful, fun-filled, and uplifting evening, something to mark on your calendar for next year. Our next open day is 15 December to purchase your Christmas gifts”. A special thanks to Simone’s family, who provided adorable lunchbox treats like fairy bread and juice boxes!
