Easter Camp 2025: We need you!
For decades, the Western Australian Conference’s pastors, teachers, and volunteers have united in ministry to organise and oversee our annual Easter Camp. The feedback from this year’s camp has been overwhelmingly positive, and with over 4000 people in attendance, it may well be our largest camp yet. I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to Easter Camp 2024. As a Conference, we are immensely thankful for each of you.
As the world evolves, so too must our approach to staffing Easter Camp. Recognising that teaching roles are becoming increasingly complex, stressful, and time-consuming, starting in 2025, our teachers will no longer be ‘required’ to work at Easter Camp. They are still warmly invited to volunteer. The decision to volunteer is now entirely up to them, as it is to you. We are counting on your support.
There are numerous areas to volunteer in at Easter Camp, from cooking to audio/visuals, from Big Tent to Beginners, from cleaning to security, from tent springs to registrations. We simply cannot run Easter Camp the way we have without many volunteers.
Volunteering at Easter Camp is not only about serving: it is also about growth and enrichment. It provides a unique opportunity to connect with others in the community, share your talents, and have a meaningful impact on the lives of campers. Volunteers often find that the experience strengthens their faith and sense of purpose, leaving them with lasting memories and friendships.
Are you willing to volunteer at Easter Camp as an individual, a family, or with your local church? Do you have a talent or God-given gift that could benefit others? Local churches can take on one of the children’s divisions for the duration of Camp, or perhaps manage the camp store or catering for delegates.
If you are interested in volunteering at Easter Camp, please call the Conference Office and have a conversation with us. We are already planning for 2025, and would love to hear from you.
Without an increase in volunteer numbers, we may need to run Easter Camp differently, perhaps as a ‘lighter’ version of the Camp.
