Let’s Pray, WA!
It was wonderful to see people across Western Australia unite in prayer over the month of June. Each day we prayed for different people groups covering each of our regions, for people working in a variety of industries, and for people facing particular challenges.
Pr Clem Receives Citation
On 20 June 2023 Pr Clem van Ballegooyen received a citation to celebrate his retirement and work in ministry since 1984.
‘Road to Bethlehem’ Becomes Biennial
Livingston Seventh-day Adventist Church has decided to run the Road to Bethlehem (RTB) Christmas outreach program every two years from now on, meaning the next program will be in December 2024.
Victoria Park Christian School Wins First Place at Bunbury Eisteddfod
One student shared that “their favourite part was singing on stage and winning first place” and another student’s favourite part was “listening to the other kids’ performances.”

Brenda goes west
Then she spoke direct to the hearts of the adults challenging each one to be genuine Christian, fully surrendered to Jesus, passionately praying, quick to do God’s will and intentionally sharing Jesus. She told amazing personal experiences of God putting her in the right place to lead people to Jesus and His church. They were “Thank you, Jesus” moments!
Young Adventist entrepreneur receives Rotary award for accessible beauty venture
The young Adventist entrepreneur, who lives with blindness and hearing impairment herself, recently won a Shine On Award from the Rotary Club of Southern Districts, recognising her work in creating accessible products, and for her volunteer role at both Guide Dogs Western Australia and the Kites sensory toy library.
When the Sanctuary came alive for Manjimup
We were divided into 6 groups and given an envelope with instructions on how to build a particular piece of furniture found in the Sanctuary… A trailer load of ‘stuff’ was taken there, this included cardboard, pieces of wood, plastic tubing, paper, paint, gaffer tape and of course cable ties. People could use their imagination and work together to produce an item that had to resemble the furniture they were to make.
Growing together in Merredin
God is blessing our regional community with a growing number of young people who are passionate for Jesus. In the last six months we’ve seen our young people continue to develop, grow, and shine through church life and within their community.
Jenesis: beginning with praise
Our experience has been that live praise and worship is alive. It’s not something that can be replicated by watching online or listening to pre-recorded music.

New First Nations building dedicated in a healing place
Coming in under budget—at just under AU$2 million—the pristine new classrooms, student common area, computer lab, administrative offices and Faith FM recording studio will support growth in First Nations ministry and health education at Mamarapha College.

Finance Update
The news has been full of cost of living increases, including rising interest rates, and wages not keeping pace with these cost increases. I have no doubt that our church members are beginning to feel the strain and have had to “tighten the belt”, so to speak, on the family finances.
BLT at Livingston
It was especially good to see Michelle Harders helping her team in the tug-o-war as she attached her wheelchair to the end of her teams rope and pulled them to victory!
Focus on Prayer
During June we are inviting everyone across Western Australia to join together in prayer. The prayer focus for these 30 days will be on different people groups. People working in different industries, people facing different challenges, people living in different regions.
